Bye, Bye Textbooks
Students returned their textbooks today. That means the rest of the work we do this school year will be experiential and worksheet-driven. To that end, students learned how to identify exclusions on expressions that include a variable in the denominator. Then, using the idea of cross-products, students solved algebraic proportions to discover values for the variable that would make the statements true.
Tonight's Homework: Odd problems on the cream colored worksheet. There are three parts for each problem: Identify excluded values, if any. Solve for the variable (show work). Show the check step(s) by inserting the value(s) obtained for the variable into the original equation.
P.S. I need to borrow your Barbies! No harm will be done to them.
