Combining Like Terms with Polynomials

Today we looked at polynomial operations. We focused on adding and multiplying them and then combining like terms to ensure our answers all end up having the same number of terms in the end. We reviewed the "double distributive" property, and I introduced students to its other name, the FOIL method. Looking at algebra tiles, students were able to see visually what was happening when we added, subtracted and multiplied polynomials.

Tonight's Homework: Be sure to review for tomorrow's concept test over the quadratic equation. Do the following assignment from pages in the home book: HB p. 108 (21-32) and p. 118 (5-10)
