Analyzing Data Displays Made by Others

Today, we used information from Ms. Barcroft-Hundt's class to predict both the total number of pieces of candy and the color distribution of those pieces that would be found in a small package of SkittlesĀ® candy. Once the predictions were made, students opened their packages, and the data was shared with the class.

Tonight's Homework: Finish the data analysis of the SkittlesĀ® information you gathered during class today. Be sure to find the mean, median, mode and range of the data for each color and for the total number of pieces of candy found in each bag. Then make box and whisker plots for each of the colors and for the total number of pieces of candy found in the bag. Write an analysis about what the data shows.
